![]() Little bear is aged 6 and lives the same life as a human boy with a loving mum and dad, albeit a life set more in 1920s rural North America than that of a boy today. The Little Bear show is rated U, universal for all, and it's a series of simple and enchanting childhood tales about Little bear, his family and his talking animal and human friends that any child over 3 can relate to. The TV is 4:3 old style video (not widescreen). It's English stereo audio only (no subtitles) and the DVDs are region 2 (UK) locked. Each story is around 7.5 minutes long, with a total run time of 70 minutes. This Rain Dance Play DVD has Episodes 13, 14 & 15, from Little Bear Season One, first broadcast in 1995 (there were five Little Bear seasons in all, finishing in 2003).The episodes on this single DVD are 1a. In all, sixty five episodes of Little Bear were produced, giving a total of 195 stories in all, so this collection of 9 stories is sadly only a very small sample. three Little Bear episodes, as there's three stories in each). To add to the collection I bought this single PAL UK DVD 'The Rain Dance Play'. My daughter, now 21, adored these Little Bear cartoons as a young child and the only thing she asked to save recently when we cancelled Sky+ was her small collection of Little Bear stories on the hard drive, as she loved them so much. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 February 2016 I suppose that there is a time and place for simplistic Good-versus-Evil morality tales, but I would much rather teach my daughter about real people and the real world, where people are not simply "Evil" or "Good," and understanding and cooperation are the main skills in life, and the the primary moral imperative is to be a nice person, not to "resist Evil." Again, I don't know about you, but I am saddened by the fact that my daughter does not like Disney stories because they always have so many scary parts.A total of 9 stories from Little Bear's enchantingly simple kid's cartoon TV series - one of four rather old UK DVD sets I don't know about you, but personally I am tired of trying to answer my daughter when she asks why the Bad Guy is so Bad. I recommend all of the Little Bear stories, and the Little Bear show on Nicklelodeon, for any parent who wants a positive alternative to the brain-rotting noise that one usually finds on TV. ![]() Unlike so much of TV/movies for kids, the Little Bear stores are not about conflicts with bad people, or are about loud-mouthed kids who argue with eachother and avoid adults at all times (Rugrats and the like). Little Bear won't insult your kids' intelligence, and you may enjoy them yourself, too! Rogers nor the frantic and incomprehensible jump-cuts of the Power Rangers. Similarly, the action unfolds at the perfect pace for young kids, neither the sluggish pace of Mr. The stories are full of imagination, and are neither too simple, nor too complicated. And, in the Little Bear stories, mom and dad are supportive presences, mirroring the real world in which mom and dad are usually the most significant people in young children's lives. Milne's original "Winnie the Pooh" stories, in which the characters' games and discoveries are the main attraction, and we come to love the characters not despite their flaws but because of them. Like all of the Little Bear videos, this charming collection of four 7-minute tales is so good that it almost justifies watching TV instead of playing outside! These stories are about kids just being kids (or rather, animal kids just being animal kids): exploring, playing with friends, laughing, and using their imagination to make up playful games with eachother. She acts out the "mermaid" story almost ever other day! She simply loves the stories, and enjoys acting them out with me afterwards. Of all the Little Bear videos, this one contains some of the best stories, the ones that my 3-year-old daughter comes back for again and again.
